From the rulebook: The Clash of Legions is a strategic level, politico-military simulation of the numerous wars which wracked the Roman Empire from its foundation in the civil wars of Caesar and Pompey through its overthrow at the hands of the barbarians, a period of roughly 600 years. Imperium Romanum is an update to the classic game of the Roman Empire by Al Nofi. The game includes over 40 scenarios, with six new scenarios and three introductory scenarios. The city builder strategy game Imperium Romanum is set in the time-honoured Roman Empire and players will marvel in the incredible attention to detail when working on a strategy to build a well organised, prosperous and commanding settlement. As governor of a Roman province, the fortune very much lies in the players own hands. The rules cover the intricacies of the political, economic, and military conflicts of the Roman world from the first century BC to its fall nearly 700 years later.
